合理搭配茄子虽然氮肥需求量最大，但磷、钾肥也不可缺少，在追肥时不能每次都只追施氮素化肥。在盛果期较好追施两次三元复合肥，每次每亩追肥不少于40公斤，以满足茄子生长和结果的需要。
注意用量茄子需氮肥量最大，但在高温季节，须“少吃多餐”。每次每亩施用尿素一般应控制在30公斤以内。碳酸氢铵每次每亩施用量以不超过40公斤为宜。施肥量过大，除会造成养分流失，还会对茄子叶、果造成氨害。
